Snapchat now allows creators to show off how many subscribers they have. This is the first time that Snapchat is making such a big change to its platform.
“We’ve listened to feedback from our creator community and many of them expressed interest in having the option to show that their community on Snapchat is growing,” Snapchat spokesperson to The Verge
Snapchat added improved search functionality back in 2017, making it easier to find more people to follow in the app and Snapchat also rolled out creator profiles last year, reported by Tubefilter, providing another way for high profile creators to build their followings on the platform.
Snapchat also stated that the feature doesn’t need to be on all the time, so if a creator ends up taking a hit in the subscriber count, they can opt to hide it. “We understand not every creator wants to have public metrics visible to their fans… therefore, creators can choose to toggle this metric on and off as needed in their settings,” Snapchat clarified.
The Snapchat user needs to be registered as a creator to show their follower's count, which is either a business account with a public profile or a high-profile just like any other social media apps.
