Telegram has rolled out a big update for its platform with a ton of new features. But the main focus of the update is Group video calls, which were teased by its founder back in April, aim to be launched in May. And it's finally here.
The latest public release of Telegram version 7.8 has introduced in two parts, titled by its main features Group video calls and Animated backgrounds. First just like Zoom anyone will be able to turn on video at any time and switch voice chats to group video calls and will also be able to pin someone's video. While voice chats can have unlimited participants, a video call is limited to 30 people and is expected to increase soon.
Users will also be able to share their phone screens on the video call. Telegram has also improved noise suppression in voice chats and added an option to turn it off in settings with the latest update.
To compete with video conferencing giants like Zoom, Telegram has also tried and improved the user's experience on tablets and computers. The app will now show multiple video grids to choose from optimized for both portrait and landscape orientation.
Tablets and PC users of the app will also get a selective screen sharing feature, which will allow them to share only an individual program instead of the whole screen and the user sharing the screen will automatically get pinned.
And now moving to Telegram new animated backgrounds feature which is the first in any messaging app. Now you will be able to select a color gradient animated background responsive to your texts. You can also choose the colors of background animations to create one of your likings.
Users will also be able to send animated emojis, change app icon designs, and import new stickers. Telegram has also introduced a sticker bot (@stickers) to allow you to create new sticker apps.
