Upcoming Feature: WhatsApp is reportedly testing chat history migration between iOS and Android

Whatsapp is testing a new feature that will allow users to easily migrate chat history between an iPhone and an Android device, reported by WABetaInfo. This feature is reportedly an effort to make WhatsApp "multi device" compatible.

Whatsapp had been exploring the possibility of letting users use WhatsApp on multiple devices at the same time, and according to the report, the feature to migrate chat history between iPhone and Android is part of this effort.

"The development of the feature takes a long time because it will totally change your experience on WhatsApp, and a lot of things have been rewritten in order to be compatible with multi device." the report said.

There are altered versions of WhatsApp on the internet, which still allow chat history migration, but they aren't allowed as they violate WhatsApp's Terms of Service and users have a real chance of getting their accounts blocked.
