Google adds new Easter Egg to Celebrate Ever Given ship getting freed from Suez Canal

Google has never missed a chance on making an easter egg in search results for users on celebratory moments. And today world got the great news that the Ever Given cargo ship which was stuck in the Suez Canal for 6 days, has finally been freed.

It's pretty hard to have missed this news but still, here is a little catchup: Last week a 400m big container ship, Ever Given, managed to run aground and essentially get lodged sideways in the Suez Canal. The canal connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea, allowing for direct shipping from Europe to Asia, eventually bringing 12% of the world's trade that goes through the canal to a halt.

If you search for related terms like “Suez Canal” or “Ever Given,” you’ll be treated to an animation of ship emojis sailing from right to left underneath the Google Search bar.
