Uber is in advanced talks to sell its flying taxi division, Uber Elevate to Joby Aviation, Axios reported. A deal is expected to be announced later this month.
Uber Elevate had a helicopter service running in New York City, but Uber put that on hold amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The unit had around 80 employees.
The sale comes as Uber is focusing on attaining profitability. Reportedly, The company is in talks to sell its self-driving unit too.
Joby Aviation had previously partnered with Uber Elevate and has raised over $700 million from firms like Toyota, Intel and JetBlue.
